The purpose of the Stroke Prevention Grant (SPG) is to generate an innovative and collaborative program of research demonstrating Australia’s capacity to address and solve a significant problem within the prevention of stroke. It is expected that this funding opportunity will create an outstanding program of work that is highly-esteemed, internationally competitive and able to leverage significant further funding.
For this one-off funding opportunity, the Heart Foundation is seeking research grant applications to address the prevention of stroke.
This may include, but is not limited to:
Open to all applicants who can demonstrate an ability to conduct a program of research in stroke prevention. Ideally applicants will be senior, experienced and have a significant track record in national and/or international collaborations and an ability to attract further funding for the program.
The duration of funding will be for up to five years.
The Heart Foundation contribution for the Stroke Prevention Grant will be up to $3-5 million in total, and it is anticipated that 1-2 programs will be funded.
