What is a heart healthy eating pattern?

Heart healthy eating patterns are based on a combination of foods, chosen regularly, over time. They include a wide variety of foods; are rich in wholegrains, fibre, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats; and naturally low in unhealthy fats, salt and added sugar. Eating this way can help protect your heart and prevent heart disease.
