Heart Foundation and Hearts4heart are working together to help reduce death and disability from cardiovascular disease in Australia.

Deaths from cardiovascular disease have decreased over the last 10 years, but it remains a leading cause of death in this country with one person dying from cardiovascular disease every 12 minutes.

The Heart Foundation and Hearts4heart are proud to announce a new partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate efforts to reduce death and disability from cardiovascular disease in Australia.

About Hearts4heart

Hearts4heart is a leading Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, educating and advocating for people living with heart disease.

Founded by CEO Tanya Hall in 2011, who has lived experience with heart disease, Hearts4Heart is a patient-led organisation committed to empowering individuals with heart conditions. The organisation works to reduce preventable strokes, deaths, and suffering by improving access to care, influencing health policy, and, most importantly, bringing the voice of patients to the forefront of healthcare decisions.

Hearts4heart provides peer support, connects patients with healthcare professionals and raises awareness through national campaigns. It also plays a key role in shaping Australian health policy, working closely with government, industry leaders and medical experts to drive meaningful change.

Through advocacy, education and community engagement, their aim is to make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by heart disease.

Partnering for healthier hearts

The Heart Foundation and Hearts4heart are committed to working together to develop a long-term partnership that leads to a reduction in death and disability from cardiovascular disease in Australia.

The partnership will particularly concentrate on community-focused projects, including the expansion of the patient network, scaling it nationally to ensure that heart disease patients in rural and regional areas alike receive the emotional support and guidance they need. The aim is that the partnership will help both organisations achieve greater impact by representing the true needs and voices of heart disease patients throughout Australia.
