Digital health has great potential to support cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention, but real-world benefits have been slow to realise. Questions remain about what actually works within digital health interventions, for whom, and in what context. This program of research has 2 streams, with complementary aims:
The 2 streams of the program will examine results for different health conditions of high prevalence and burden—high blood pressure and high cholesterol, atrial fibrillation and heart failure—addressing primary and secondary prevention. Ultimately, this program will generate key knowledge and bridge the evidence gap on the determinants of effectiveness, engagement, and successful implementation of digital health interventions for CVD prevention.
