Cardiologists commonly manage patients with pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease. This combination is serious and common, currently without standardised diagnostic techniques and with no known effective therapies. Diagnosis and treatment, remains difficult due to a lack of a data and standardised recommendations. As such patients often experience disproportionate symptoms and have poorer outcomes. This project aims to provide real-world data on the characteristics of these patients (imaging, haemodynamics, clinical), to define standardisation of invasive diagnostic techniques and to assess sub-groups of patients who might respond to treatment. Our aim is to utilise the findings from these studies to inform future practice in the diagnosis and management of patients with PHT complicating LHD.
